Full House

The house is about to explode with activity over the coming days, as people start to arrive for my eldest sons wedding.  Only 11 more days to go before our family increases in numbers.   So excited to have more females in the ranks. That is one of the many benefits of having four sons, you end up eventually with four daughter's also.

Two family friends from Melbourne will be arriving on Thursday morning,  dropping by for a short stay.  Will be great to catch up.

My youngest sister and her family of 4 will start to arrive on Monday followed by my Mother and a younger brother, an uncle by Thursday. My elder brother and family of 3 will arrive on the Friday.   All accommodation has been sorted ... be like old home week.  Doing our bit to improve the economy here in T'ba, hairdresser appointments etc.
Then it will be the beginning of the school holidays for us here.  Son number  4 will be going for his car license on the 10th. Working at his parttime job, earning to buy his first car.
Sister and nieces will be staying over for an extra couple of days before heading home to Cairns.
Busy times ahead....looking forward to it all.

Gift For Abbey

A gift for Abbey because l can.
Abbey will be my new grand daughter in two weeks time.  I know she enjoys cooking.  Thought it would be nice to make her something special ... for her to cook in.  So much easier to make things for little girls. Abbey is 8 and interested in what l get up to in my sewing room. So have decided to introduce her to everything crafty.  When she comes to visit.

Have cut out fabric for her first patchwork quilt.

My two nieces will be joining me on the school holidays, they to would like their Aunty to teach them how to sew and knit a little something.  Would like to make something they can take back home with them. Going to be fun in the sewing room and the kitchen this hols.

Teddy Bear Tea Party

This is my Teddy Bear Tea Party Wall Quilt.

I purchased from Gail B's out at Bayswater in Victoria. It was in a  Kit.

Started it straight away enjoying it one block at a time, then putting it together as a top.
It seem to have stopped that way.   It has been amongst my UFOs for a couple of years and will now be finished tonight at my very own sit and sew night.

Wish l could have one night a week put aside for my projects.
The quilt has come alive with the soft girly quilting.

Another UFO put to rest.  This will be the third quilt finished this year.

You go girl.!  LOL.

Has been custom quilted by the very talented Bev McClune. Just love her work...such a nice lady to deal with.

Will need to find some wall space for it to hang on.

Making Something Pretty.

Have been busy today cutting out lining for three flower girls dresses...crawling around on the cold tiled floor.   Took me a while to be able to stand up straight afterwards. lol.
I decided l needed a break from that project.

So l started another project which is total different something pretty, something quick....that l have made before. Part way through the weather come in cold and dark and now l have had to put that project away until the morning. Due to lack of good lighting.  So l am off to cook the family a nice warm curry for dinner.  Brrrr it is cold.

My Big Plans.

I had big plans for last night to cut out this  pattern, fabric and put this dress together but was way laid with visitors and running my boys all over creation.
All l have managed to do is cut out the paper pattern.

In the middle of making Lachlan's Birthday cake for to nights family dinner. Then drop him and his best buddies in town. This is what happens when they turn 19.

Looking forward to a quieter night to night.

Sneak Peek

Sneak peak at the Brides maids dresses l have been stressing over for the last five months. The Brides maids are coming from all over Oz. So to try to get the sizing right has been a nightmare. Now all they have to do is have the dresses hemmed.  The dress have been changed 4 times.  Now l have only four weeks to make three Flower girls dresses. No time for the bride to change her mind.  Wish me luck.
