Baby Makes Family Of Six.

As some of you would already know, l will be a Nan  in April of 2015, a product of the recent wedding celebrations.  Found this little cot panel in one of my many tubs.
Was wondering what the best way of using this panel might be.

Should l cut it apart and rejoin adding as l go or leave and simply quilt the panel.

I do  not normally use panels. Any ideas out there.

  1. Hi Maddy and how exciting is that a new little baby coming soon,if it was me i would leave it in the panel and just quilt it,good luck with what you decide.xx

  2. Personally, like Shed, I love it as a panel. However a square playmate may be nice too - wouldn't be too hard to match the fabric colours or add some chenille to the mis as additional textures. Congrats on becoming a Nan soon - so exciting. Cheers Jen

  3. i did a panel recently.... just quilted it round the main bits.... was fun. I would keep it as a panel but like jennifer said you could do a square thing and i like her thoughts of chenille or minkie bits to make it a square with texture

  4. What if l made a floor blanket out of the center panel then used the left over pieces for pillow case and toys. Eg: Cube or wallhanging.

  5. I would add a border around it, possibly two borders and then quilted it. Cute panel.

  6. The floor blanket made out of the centre panel and then pillow case and toys will make it that bit extra special. You could possibly add a border or 2 to the centre to make it a bit bigger if that is what you end up doing. Will be nice to see it when it is finished.

  7. Panels are fun and I have used them as a "backing" for a pieced quilt.
